Ok I have one, this 3rd time I got my vehicle back (before returning it the 4th time) I smelled radiator fluid as if some had been spilled or maybe there was a leak somewhere. Also when the car went into reduced-power-mode, is it normal for it to backfire and smell of sulphur (emissions I'm guessing)? This last time I only had my vehicle for all of 12 hours before it went out on me again.

This is almost sounding like a shop issue... In regards to the DTCs being discussed.. I had said check for any leaks between the top of the air box and the TB but after getting home and looking at some stuff, have them check starting at the MAF and all the way till the head inlet port. A leak at the manifold, SC mount, TB or a bad Baro sensor, TB air pressure sensor etc.. After looking at the two DTCs it appears to me that the primary mode of failure is in relation to the 068 DTC. Anything that will cause the TB air pressure sensor to throw the code will also cause 1182 to set not the other way around. Any out of range value from the TB sensor will cause the air flow models to fail and throw the 1182 also.

In regards to the sulpher smell, that was the CAT getting murdered. When it goes into limp mode, it runs really rich and that is hell on the CAT....

Ok I am happy to report that I received my car and have not reported a single issue. I have run it somewhat hard trying to make sure everything is in working order. What I was told from the advisor was that the technician that did the original work did not tighten down a hose correctly thus causing my problems (I think one of you mentioned that here so kudos ) Also the radiator fluid smell was caused because someone in the shop (advisor's words not mine) put a radiator cap of an SL2 on my car by mistake causing a leak. So far the car feels like its running well, and if anything, feels a little more brisk. Thanks for letting me rant on this board. I know some of you thought ill of me for crying "lemmon law" but please put yourself in my shoes, a problem that goes on for months with dealerships giving me answers ranging from "its just something you'll have to learn to live with" to "We're not sure what it is but if we hear somethin we'll give you a call". For those that provided help, it is greatly appreciated. Hopefully I won't have anymore trouble from this car because it is one of the most enjoyable (from a fun to drive aspect) cars I've had but also at the same time its given me more problems than any other car which includes an 85 cavalier (boxy) 88 Buick, 97 and 00 chevy.

Good news! I don't think anyone meant you serious ill-will. It's just that when you're not in the situation, it feels like someone is bashing your own car, through theirs. The appropriate response is not always the one we give. For those of us lucky enough to have no problems, it's hard to grasp.

ughhhh this is definitely getting quite tiresome. Went out with this very cute young lady tonite and wouldn't you know it, my CEL comes on again. This is becoming quite a chore owning this car. I know that many of you are enjoying your cars as well as you should, if I wasn't experiencing the difficulties I have been with this car I'd be really enjoying it. I'm at my wits end on this one. I must however say, this time my car ran almost an entire month before the CEL came on. There is definitely something going on with this car. Anyone have any suggestions?

Just no way to speculate, depends on the DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code)that's being set. (There are over 1000 faults that can bring on the CEL)

What DTC/s were setting before? (should be on your copies of the repair order)

If we dont have this information- we cant be much help to you
Regards
Wop

I'm guessing a CEL thread might be a decent place to ask this. Is there anyway to find out if my '05 got the "flash" for the cold start hesistation while it was at the dealership, aka, before I bought it. I found out my car got there in the beginning of Feburary, so I most likely didn't have it from the dealership, and the loss of power in the early parts of the RPM range are getting annoying. I've noticed its not even just when its cold, I can leave work after having the car sit for 8-10 hours and it'll do it the same as in the morning when its fairly cold. Just wondering if there is a simple way to find out or if the dealership would even be able to tell me??

all of the stuff that gets done to your car SHOULD bet kept in saturns database. you SHOULD be able to go to saturn and ask them if "such and such" was done and if not can it be done

They can look at your warrranty claims history and see if one of the reprogramming Operation Codes appears. However the easiest way to determine if it requires a re-flash is to connect it to the neccessary equipment and compare it's current file versions to the latest appearing in the Techline database. I would say take it in with the cold-run complaint, they would almost automatically check to see if a reflash esists.
