No Crank or No Start, DTC B2960 and/or B3033 Set (Replace Body Control Module [BCM] and Ignition Switch, If Necessary)
2003-2006 Saturn ION

Built Up To and Including VIN Breakpoint 6Z147837

Please make notte that this is a BULLETIN not a recall, so to qualify for the recommended repair the vehicle must have experienced the NO START (as many here have reported) AND have either of those 2 DTCS stored in the BCM
so what happens if you already have the stage reflash and you have to take your car back for a pcm reflash due to one of these tsb's? does your car automatically get reflasshed with the stage reflash?

For these particular bulletins- there is really no reason to reflash the PCM so you should be good. EVENTUALLY your VIN will be automatically recognized as having the Stage calibration but I have yet to be able to confirm this has taken place. In the meantime there already has been people that have had their stage flash overwritten at the dealer so it would be a good idea to let them know when you take it in so that doesnt happen. Immediately after you pick up check your 7000 rev limit.

Also most reasonable scanners will give you the VIN and the Calibration ID, Ease Diagnostics, Auto Tap etc....... I am not so sure of the generic that AutoZone uses...

Yea but how is the average Joe supposed to know what cal id they should observe? For instance what is it the correct numbers you should see for a 2006 Redline with and without the Stage kit? Having access to the calibration details is one thing, but being able to asess the cal id against anything solid is another.
Most of the "Autozone" type code readers dont even do cal id

Easiest still IMO... rev to 7K

Freak's just a worry wart... LOL j/k

Just another alternative... The first thing I did when I left the dealer and hit the freeway was run it up to 7K but hey.. And the correct cal numbers for the stage kits are in the instructions. Oh BTW... The GM website now shows then stage cal for my car... Only took a couple of months...
