looking for help installing a short shifter

not sure if this is the right place but here goes.... i bought a short shifter but cant figure out how to install it. i got down to removing the center console but could never figure out how to detach the current shifter. does anyone have any pictures of maybe a video they can point me to? or some step by step detailed instructions

i got a cosmo one. i did come with instructions. i ended up using TWM instructions i found online: http://www.twmperformance.com/manual..._%20Manual.pdf. even with the picture toward the end it didnt seem to help much

to get the current shifter off pull firmly on the plastic trim piece. where the shift boot attaches to the shifter twist counter clock wise and pull down. you will see 3 tabs of plastic ( dont know what there really called ) take a flat head screw driver and lift the tabs around the lower part of the shifter and pull up really hard

i follow the directions to a T but when it came to actually removing the current shifter to replace it with the new one i couldnt make any sense of it.

what part of the shifter exactly are you not able to get off ?? ive heard that a VERY select few shifters have a screw holding the knob on there should be a round piece at the very top of the shifter take a thin blade screw driver and pop it off carefully

Sorry, i forgot to mention that i am trying install this into a standard ION as opposed to a redline. when I get down to stop 18 to detach the cables from the shifter. on top of that the lower bal of the shifter would not detach either unless there was something i was missing there too.
