You could see it seeping out.
I also had been to my local dealership in the past and confronted them about the brake rotor gouging issue and they said it was completely normal
for my type of car. I had seen some earlier reports of it,but wondered if anyone had Saturn do anything about it.
Any help or input would be greatly appreciated. My car is completely stock by the way.
The gouging of the brake rotors is not normal on any car...its been happening to mine ( i have an '04) i got the rotors and pads replaced twice and there is still a problem...you need to talk to the dealer again!!!

Yes it is... good lord... its from an incredibly agressive pad surface, on a rotor surface that's not as hard as it could be. Period. What do you think it is? Little gremlins that come out at night, from the tranny case, that gouge lines into the rotors? I doubt it. So you have three possibilites. A) Defective Rotors, B) Irreguarly shaped brake pads C) Aggressive pads, that wear the rotors.

Guess which one is most likely? I can guarantee you, that if I take my camera for a week, I can find you 10 other cars, of totally different models, that all have a similar wear on the rotors. There's a BMW out here, an '05, that is identical. Works with me. What did the dealer tell him and his wife? Please see 'C' above.

I don't doubt that some of the rotors or pads have had an issue. Never seen it with my own eyes, but I'm sure it's possible. Beyond that, if you want a 2900 lbs FWD Saturn, to stop like a Lamborghini, then you have to make SOME sacrifices to sell the car for $20k. Like using a little softer material in the brakes. I'll let the car's stopping distance speak for itself on that one though...

What do you think it is? Notice how the people that bring it in once, tend to have a repeat issue? I guess every rotor and set of pads for the RL has the same defective character. Sounds more and more like driving habits to me... I can see the grooves in mine after a race, and then 3-5 days of normal driving, and they're almost gone... again, sound like driving habits to me... but what do I know...
