Yeah I'm running state farm insurance on my cars too. I'm 23 with 3 accidents (all not at-fault) and no traffic violations. The RL costs ~130/month the 93sl2 is like ~250 every 6 months.

I got 1 accident, no tickets, not married and pay 2200 a year for insurance....went down 100 bucks in the last 6 month span so we'll see if that trend continues.

I have 2 tickets (the type that don't go on record and add points), 19 and pay 1200 cdn a yr for insurance. But I have a 10% discount on mine (for some reason, it should only be 3, but whatever i'll take it) and our insurance rates are somewhat cheaper than most places as we have a provincal sales tax plus the federal tax.

Getting raped on RL insuracne is guaranteed no matter who is the provider, even for someone like me with a clean record.

Mine is no more on the RL than it was on my 97 f150, my wife's 97 camaro, her 02 rodeo, or my 04 QC3. It is still considered a compact/economy car. Most of it has to do with age, marriage, tickets, accidents, etc. My 19 year old sister-in-law has an 04 QC3, and has had a few accidents and a few speeding tickets, and hers is sky high, I think it is well over 200 a month, with the same insurance company that we use. She is at the point now if she has anymore incidents, they will probably cancel her.

A friend of mine just got a call today from his agent. They don't want one of his employees driving company trucks anymore. He's got a 4 yr old DUI but clean since. I also got a call from my old SF agent asking if he could give me a quote. I dropped them almost 2 years ago.
I'm wondering if maybe there's some industry wide underwriter's review going on. Maybe hurricane losses are causing them to tighten belts, cut risk, and go after new business. But then I see conspiracies everywhere.

EGAD, some of you are getting hosed on insurnace. My Redline alone is @ $80 a month, full coverage. But I have Multiline discount for my wifes car and the house. But I still pay less for all that and two motorcycles that what some are paying a month for the RedLine alone. But, I have been with the same company since I was 14, so, 17+ years and 8 vehicles and home, and clean record makes a difference I guess.

One of those little crappy no pay companies does not even have a listing for the RedLine. Just listings for 2 or 4 door. A guy I know has his F-150 Lightning through them and he brags about them not knowing it is an 11 second truck, as they have no listing for Lightnings, yet alone one with extensive work done. But we looked online and found that this ompnay never pays for anything, always finding some way to keep from shelling out. Just a way to say you have the insurance.

Based on his previous posts, I don't think that our esteemed colleague, Mr. Vita is referring to his record, as it refers to driving experience. I believe that Insurance companies, not surprisingly, have a numerous information sources at their disposal which may include aliases, criminal records, and previous vehicle history. I believe that it is still a requirement that the Insurance company in question provide confirmed notification before dropping your coverage.
