just a thought but if you were putting the belt on while tightening down the s/c maybe it didn't line up correctly... i would take the belt off just loosen the s/c make sure it's on right then tighten it down then put the belt back on hey you never know...but is the pulley flush with the input shaft?

Im betting that the Tensioner is not tight enough, altho he is still getting boost my thinking is that the tensioner is not tighting that belt tight enough causing that belt to slip causeing the belt cause more friction making the pulley to become hot. with having the squeeking and the hottnes that is my unprofessional thoughts. i could be wrong but that makes the most logical sense to me. remember he said that when he let go of the tensioner that it didnot seem to return to the same spot that it was origionaly at.

Ok.....last night I redid the whole install. The pulley is definitly not hitting the SC snout. I really think that the belt has been stretched too much from being removed/reinstalled. The tensioner is comming all the way up and there is still a little play in the belt. When I had my new motor put in, my cousin (mechanic) said they would've used my old belt and they probably just stretched the crap out of it in order to get it on. And it would be ok with the stock pulley but with the 3.0 it will be sloppy. I am going to try to get it into his dealership for a new belt....maybe he can even do it under warranty. I can't say for sure that is what it is until I get the new belt but that is what my money's on.

Talked to my cousin again....he thinks I should get a new belt (stock size). And if that doesn't work, I can try the one for the cobalt with no A/C. That might work. Should I try another belt or just wait for the one that comes with the stage 2 to come out?
