Exclamation Boost Gauge Problem!!!!!! ?Maybe?

Ok I just bought a boost gauge. I hooked it up following instruction from a past post. When i turn the car on it goes down to vac 30 and then slowly goes up to in between vac 20 - 25. if i rev the engine, i mean really rev it so its at redline it goes up to about 10 boost. when i start driving it mostly stays in vac sometimes it goes up to like 5 boost and then jus falls back down into like 5 vac unless i gun it wot it goes to about 10. Is this how it should be or does there seem to be something wrong to me it looks like theres a problem but i am not sure at all. Please help.

Sounds about right to me... I would stop redling it in N, BTW....

You don't command full boost, till the foot hits the floor...

yes that is how it is. if you hold your foot into it it will show boost and if you just lightly push it will read little to no boost. at idle its ~ 20 vac. thats normal.

You'll see it go higher when it's cooler out. Mine hits anywhere from 13 to 15 before the bypass kicks in at 6,000 rpms. Depends on the weather.

W/o the bypass mine hits 10 normally and starts to eek up higher until the factory blops me back down to 10.. With the bypass I see 12ish and sometimes even a tad bit higher, but I'm also running a stock pully.

was using a autometer procomp boost gage it was working fine had it for 6months well i finaly did the boost mod now instead of holding boost till 5800 rpm i was hitting 16psi and holding all the way through to the rev limiter
& it was like having a extra inch added to the gas pedal but now after a good day of beating the shit out of it now my boost gage wont return to
0 when off & boost only reads 8psi at wot & vac at 30 when idle. i think i need a better gage but it was fun watching the gage pegg 16 psi

Is this boost mod anything worthwhile? I've read about it but the verdict never seemed clear on it.

Also..Should I shift at roughly 6k to get the most out of it or run it to limiter?

Sorry for the threadjack but at least it's related.
