I'm curious to see if the Hurst knob when it's released will have any of these issues, or if it'll be all ironed out by then, with them learning from B&M and all.

Hopefully the Hurst shifter will actually be out sometime in the near future. As long as the price is $150 or less I am all over it.

I don't even remember what the stock shifter feels like. But I do remember when I first got the B&M in there I had to push forward a little bit to get the reverse lockout to go around that little ridge of plastic. Like an upsidedown and reversed J. I don't even notice anymore.

Just installed Saturday, no problems with the shifter at all. Shifts are very smooth, like someone else said, it's a more solid shift

Ok don't get mad at me for wanting to save money, but I looked at the shortshifters for the sunfire/cavaliers. The ones that had the 2.2 ecotec. After my buddy who has the base ion got it to work decided I would try to use one on my redline. After some ghetto rigging and a little time with a table grinder I made it work. The only issue I have, is that I have been to damn lazy to rectify the reverse lockout that does not catch at all. I don't have to have it, but it also seems to catch fifth gear before you go past it into the magical area where seventh gear is. LOL But seriously if anyone wants to save money and try this I can give my best description of what I did to make it work. It works awesome!!!

Here is the Ebay link to one similiar to mine I payed i think 35 or so shipped. Look around and maybe get it cheaper.

If anyone dares to try let me know and I will assist Goodluck and I hope this helps!!!

I have talked with Hurst a couple times now and they say it will still be at least a couple weeks, but they will let me know when it is shipped to retail locations. they had no issues with it on the ones built for the Cobalt at SEMA.

Well I called B&M, they told me I have to readjust my cable links. I'll try it tommorow and keep you guys posted. It may be user error but I doubt it. I need to send them the shift knob back and they will send me a new one and hopefully it will work..

the B&M would be fantastic if it worked flawlessly.
