Draining coolant

i have redline watter wetter in my car currently. i want to drain the coolant and fill it back up with 50/50 dexcool for winter.

is there a specific procedure to drain it fully? i had to disconnect the radiator hose over the airbox previously, and that's when i added the watter wetter, but i'm wondering if someone can clue me in on the best place to drain from.

i want hot air in winter! help!

thanks a bundle,

Tom

Is there a drain plug on the bottom of the radiator somewhere??? There are on most cars but I havn't looked on the RL yet. If not pull the bottom radiator hose off and just let it drain out of there.

i was going to look for a petcock (sp?), i was more wondering if anyone had access to specific procedure for draining it though.

it's not going to be fun doing this in winter, much less crawling around in slush looking for the drain. i just want as much out as possible so i can be nice and toasty. suprisingly she doesn't blow that warm of air so far since i added more water wetter when i removed the K&N and re-installed the stock airbox.

Did you read up on how water wetter works? It won't make it any warmer for you, based on that.

Thats why he is draining out the coolant with the water wetter in it and putting in a new mixture without it. I used water wetter too, but i put it in the intercooler not the radiator.

clevelander, where are you going with that? Oops, I see. Let me reiterate:

"Did you read up on how water wetter works? It won't make it any warmer for you [to take it out], based on [how it works]."

Heheh. Clarification is key.

I know water wetter make the water to air cool more efficiently I really dont know how it works if you want more heat. I just figured it helped make it cool off faster and in vita's case he want the radiator to hold the heat longer so the the water wetter would be working against him so he wants to drain it out. If this sounds like babbling its because I've had a lot to drink today Happy Thanksgiving!!!
