Problem!!!!!

I have a 05 RL and yesterday i was driving up to the mall and my car started beeping. I looked to see what was in the message center and it says, "Service Vehicle" and the Passlock light came on steady. So is that trying to tell me that there is something wrong with the car. Or the Security device. Also I have a CEL on thats has been on for a long time but keeps going off every once in a while but the code stays in there. I Kinda know what the CEL is on there for cause of the CAI. The code is P0171. Which is running too lean in bank 1. I just want to know what the passlock light and service vehicle light is doing on?

Not sure, but it's under warranty I would advise getting it checked out. Run the codes and let us know what it's throwing and we might be able to help from there.

They do CEL's with their machine. Sounds like you need a trip to the dealer for the passlock thing. They may have to replace the ignition.

I'd have that happen to me twice in the past 2 weeks where the service vehicle thing comes up and the passlock sensor comes on for no reason but it does nothing to the car and no CEL comes on so it really doens't bug me at all, I'm just not one to go bitch to my techs at my dealership if nothing happens. The first time it happened I was on the highway and thought the car was going to shut down cuz it might "think" that it was being stolen so I called one of my techs and he just told me not to worry about and if I wanted it gone just disconnect the battery for 5 min and it should take care of it so I just left it take care of itself and no problems from it
