That sounds like some crap with the plugs being gapped wrong. I would have hoped that that was some sort of automated process (in manufacturing) with no room for human error....

did you get the SMS BB? there have been mixed reports on the effectiveness of that.

Good luck, GM is fighting everythingf it seems that may cost them. Even if you have the law on your side, may take some poking. I was told flat out that they would not spend money on parts unless it was conclusive that the part in question was an issue.

Hell, they still don't seem to know about the upgrades being in the pipe...

youch.... well the owner of the dealership called and left a message to the Saturn Rep, shes back at work Jan 2... my car has technically been "fixed" with the new throttle body, they (dealership) will drive the car for now and put in in an ion 1 for now till we hear from the rep... should have more to say on Jan 3 I guess.... wish me luck.... Its not that I dont want a Redline anymore, I just dont want this one as its unreliable, I dont even want to go out of town with it...

I understand that your car isn't working, and that's real frustrating, but look at your statement there. Who would replace a part if they can't prove that it's the part thats the issue? If I bought a computer, told them that the motherboard was not working, and every time a repair man showed up it worked great, they wouldn't replace it either. No place would. They have to show that the item they removed and replaced was defective, so the dealership can get paid by GM for the work they did. Remember, the dealer is generally owned by Mr. Jones, who wants to make money. He isn't gonna pay to get your car fixed himself.

I have now been without the redline for my 11th day straight. I really dont want this car back, i wont even trust it to take me to work, let alone a roadtrip...

well 911Redline I wish you the best of luck! Now with that said I have had my RL for over a year and its has been to five dealerships for a total of about 2months in the garage that I was unable to drive it with the same problems you are having. While I lived in FL my car ran like a champ, but the second I went home to Indiana during the winter months it was towed twice with the mechanics replacing everything but the engine block!!! Since my short stent in upstate New York I have had it in the shop three times and towed once. They replaced the spark plugs and a few other things. I have three pages of problems that they have "fixed" on my car thoughtout the last year and have delt with Corporate Saturn on four seperate occasions. They will not buy it back even with the lemon law or it will take more time and money than it is worth it. Now the good news, the local mechanic told me to start it up "DO NOT PUSH IN ON THE GAS" let it idle for a few minutes and it will run fine and no shit it works my car has driven perfect after this simple fix for about 3 weeks now even in negative 22 degree temps. Granted it might die once or twice but it works. Good luck hope this helps.
