Thumbs down sputter putt putt arooga

its -2 celcius here in Ottawa... so like 31-30 F.

took the car out, started ok... went to local drive through... waiting for my coffee, the car's idle goes crazy rough, i had to keep it at 3000 rpm to keep the engine running (rough as hell - misfire ??)... it finally sputteres and dies.. (while i am pullin out of drive through) restart, give it gas, same thing, no power at all... i had to crank it 5 times to pull out of drivrethrough, checked under hood, foul smell of something burnt... like when electronics burn out good, smell of a resistor going... that type of smell... outside and inside the car... car towed to dealer where I bought it... wait n see I guess...

its an 05 redline with 1500 KM's on it, bone stock, how rude!

any insight gurus?

You may need this reflash that fixes cold weather issues. It's a rather old reflash and surprised you didnt have it on your car..

that's something you can probably blame on the dealership that sold you the car ;p

Mine did something very similar a couple days ago (cold here too). It hasn't done it before, but I was stopped at a light and it started to idle real rough and low. I kept it sitting there seeing if it would die, but it didn't. When I started giving it gas to move, the engine was turning real rough, like it was misfiring. I didn't know what was going on, but I gave it some extra throttle when I started moving, and above 3k, there was no power at all. It just hit a wall and stayed there. I pulled over, turned the car off, restarted it after a minute, and it was fine.
This kind of reminded me of what happens with the bad cam sensor when I first got it in February, but not exactly the same. I was gonna make a thread about it, but only if it happened again. If it happens again, to the dealer we go. I know people have been having issues like this, but I don't remember this exact thing happening to anyone, where it just hits a wall at 3k rpms.
We'll see if it happens again though. I don't drive my car everyday, and it has 1/4 tank of gas in it, so maybe these have something to do with it.
