torque brace makes engine louder

I installed the torque brace today and it went fine. The "strong recommendation" to support the engine should really be called a "necessity." I don't see how it would even be possible to do it without keeping the engine up. At any rate, after installing it, I swear that my engine is a bit louder. I don't know how that could be, but it sure seems like it. Any ideas?

You are going to get an increase in engine noise transfered to the cabin. Nothing you can do about it. If it isn't excessive I wouldn't worry about it.

Why is that? Because the vibrations are no longer being absorbed but just transmitted through the air? ? ?

I think becuase the torque brace gives a more solid connection from the engine to the frame and thus transfers more vibration.

With a piece of 2x4 and a floor jack

Slip the floor jack under the oil pan and put the piece of 2x4 between the jack and the oil pan for better weight distribution.

Jack it up til the engine is nice and solid...

You can use this method to change motor mounts as well...

Vegas, typical modern vehicles are made quiet, smooth, and long lasting. If you want more power or handling out of them, you always sacrifice those traits.

Different people have different tolerances to these noises and what not. Most people don't notice much on the single brace. If you're hearing a grinding noise or something like that, check under the hood to make sure the center bracket isn't rubbing on anything. If it is try and loosen it and push it more towards the engine. If you can't, contact me immediately for a replacement.

I'm assuming it's just cabin vibration you're hearing, but I just want to make sure everything is kosher. Thanks!
