Help!!! My car has been keyed!!!!

It was an accident that I did myself. I was at the floor store picking up a few boxes of wood flooring that we got shorted. I pulled around to the side to load them up. I got out of my car and as I walked around there was an ice patch. You guessed it, I slipped and fell on my ass.

This wouldn't be so bad but I was holding my keys in the hand I used to try and stop my fall. Unfortunately, out of reaction, the car was the only thing close and I tried to grab it with the hand my keys were in. Now I have four nice, long scratches on the driver's side rear quarter panel. Is there any way, or anything I can use to buff these scratches out? They don't look that deep. They look more like scuff marks than scratches.

Someone help. I hate seeing scratches on my baby.

You can use rubbing alcohol to take off the glue residue. I worked at a vinyl sign shop many years ago and we also did vehicle lettering. We always used good old Isopropyl. It's also what i used to remove the glue when I took my graphics off.

If you can run your thumbnail over them and you do not "feel" the scratch, then simply get some rubbing compond and "buff" 'em out. If you can feel them.... Repaint... and touch-up paint is a pain for long and or deep scratches and it never looks all that good. great for chips anything else needs a good painter...

Thanks for the advice. I went out and ran my thumbnail over it and did not feel any sort of groove or scratch at all. I'm thinking that some rubbing compound may just do the trick. I'll give it a try.

I hit my front passenger fender with a rubber mallet yesterday when I was trying to move my left strut threads over slightly.

I hit it and made a small smudge..I need to buff it out..

Hit it with a high speed buffer and some "Meguiars Mirror Glaze/ Machine Glaze #3" or as it's known as in the body shop and detailing world, "M3". This stuff is still the best @ getting out scratches IMO,but mostly any rubbing/polishing compound will work...just not as well.
