Making a to-do list for dealer

I'm taking the RL in over my x-mas break to get a list of things done. It's an '04, and I somehow doubt anything was done to it after purchase. I bought @ 7000 miles.

So, I'm just going to make them a list. If anyone thinks I should add something (a tsb / anything else), let me know. Thanks

Also, what would I add to see if the "reflash" was done?

Issues:

1) Occasional cold start troubles – have received a few check engine lights (Reprogram PCM: TSB# 05-06-04-006).

2) Also, the gear box rattles when cold (TSB #05-07-29-004).

3) #05514 Campaign – Enhanced Oxygen Sensor Response Diagnostic

4) Shift Control Knob Loose or Detached from Shift Control Lever (Secure Shift Control Knob with Adhesive and Fastener) – TSB #05-07-29-006

5) The steering wheel “clunks” at low speeds, or over bumps. TSB #05-02-32-005B

6) Check to make sure intercooler wires aren’t reversed -- TSB# 05-06-02-003

7) The clutch cylinder (above foot pedal for clutch) has developed a small leak. Leaks light brown fluid.

8) Leak on drive-side, rear door(?). Have noticed a small puddle of water on drive-side, rear floor, after rain or washing.

9) Radio lights flicker while car is ON, head lights are ON, in neutral.

10) At low speeds, in 1st gear or reverse, <5mph, occasionally get headlight/interior light dimming when moving.

The lights flickering, I think that's just a matter of load changing on the alternator and such. It does the same thing if you turn on, or off, most of the electrical systems at idle.

Also, you may want to hold off on giving them TSB numbers till they tell you there's nothing they can do about one of your issues, ya know?

My radio lights are flickering too, but it doesn't matter if I am in neutral or anything. They always flicker.

And depending on how cool your dealership is, you may need to tell them a specific problem that you are having, rather than "Check to make sure intercooler wires aren’t reversed -- TSB# 05-06-02-003". They most likely are reversed, but you have to say that it's causing you problems in some way.

All normal stuff dude. Just in case you didn't realize. It is still just one of GM's econoboxes. Just because they put a supercharger on the engine, threw in some nice seats, added a little bodywork, tweaked with the suspension, and gave way to a few goodies not available to regular Ions doesn't make it a supercar.....

It's just a Saturn dude. Base price on these things is like $12G. You didn't buy a super refined MB or BMW.

Yeah, but is it too much to ask that a car not leak water, or that the wiring be straight, regardless of cost???

True, it wasn't a high cost vehicle, but I did pay for things that work as they are supposed to.

You may want to avoid giving them the list of TSB's. It is better to tell the driveability issues it causes you and then let them search for the TSB's. My dealer wouldn't just "check my intercooler wires"...I had to convince them that it lost power after extended driving and they had to get the problem to dupilcate. I have a feeling if you give them a dozen things to fix they will come back with CND (Could Not Duplicate) on half of them. Just my opinion on the only dealer I've been to...hopefully yours is better.

I'm aware, dude.

I also have a warranty, dude, and it can't hurt for them to look at things. What am I, supposed to ignore the fact there is a warranty? I'm not bitching...more along the lines of, my clutch is leaking oil. My door's leaking...some other things, could you take a look?

I've an '04. It has bugs. The bugs can be worked out. I'm not complaining. In fact, I expected some troubles going into the car.

I took my 04 to Saturn of Monroeville for the standard recall. No problems with the service for the recall. The service manager asked if I had any other issues. I told him the intercooler pump wires were reversed and I wanted them fixed (I checked them with a meter before the car was taken in). After I received the car back from service, the tech told me that the wires were correct. I told him he was wrong. He disagreed with me. I got the service manager and explained the situation. They put the car back up on the rack and the "technician" looked at the wires and told me they were correct. I politely told him that he was full of it. I asked him if he put a meter on it. He said "no". Then I asked him how he knew it wasn't wired wrong. He replied, "You can't put the plug in backwards." What an idiot. I convinced him to pull the plug and check it with a meter. Sure enough, he admitted it was wired wrong. He was going to cut the wires and rewire it. I told him "NO", pull the wires out of the connector and reverse them. He didn't know how to do that so I told him to leave it alone and I would take care of it when I got home, which I did, about a 3 minute job. Where in the hell do they find these "technicians" anyway? I am glad I do all of my own work, except for recalls, and I still double check their work when I get home.
