Belt noise.

Hey guys, after I put on my 2.8" pulley and bigger idler pulley, i'm noticing a belt scretching noise when I first start the car. It last for like 5-10 seconds and then goes away.

Is my belt starting to go? What happens if my belt comes loose or breaks when i'm moving? It's not like a timing belt rigt When it snaps, it doesnt create tons of damage to the engine or any of our components right?

Mine squeaked too right after installing my pulley. I think the pulley itself was a little sticky or something. I just put a little bit of dielectric grease on the pulley and it doesnt do it anymore. Dont use too much though otherwise the belt will slip right off.

Mine is doing it too. It is no big deal, it's just that when it’s this cold out this time of year, and the car sits for more than an hour. A glaze from the tiny bit of moisture and the cold temp form on the belt. It goes away after 5 min because the heat from friction on the belt gets rid of the glaze. All you need is some grease and you won’t have to worry about it till next year.
