So far they have been adding the 6 quarts and it has been topped off. Either that or I am getting your extra quart!

My car has always taken 7 qts to completely fill. I thought it was 6 1/2 but finally checked it the morning after I changed to oil and it was a half of a quart low.

I always have to pour at least something from the 7th bottle in, but never all of it. I just throw that one in the trunk and use it the next time... make sure you run your engine for at least a few minutes (DO NOT REV IT!!!! JUST IDLE) after you top of number 6 to find out what your real level is.

uhh you can buy a 5 quart jug of mobil 1 at walmart for 20 bucks... so 30 bucks of oil the filter is like 5 bucks at oreilies....
then its your time and blood.... quite simple.. and its 6.75 quarts according to my service manager and manual.

Yeah, 6.75 quarts ended up perfect for me when I did it. I used a swivel head ratchet for the filter cap. But I think the two most important things you need when changing the oil is finesse (sp?) and patience.

what is the redline filter size? Has anyone used anything besides the mobil 1 filters (being 10 bucks alone).
