Bucking Problem

We installed the Stage one kit from rev it up motorsports. When you roll into the the throttel in any gear now the car starts buck real bad. When you barely roll into and get it past 4 thousand rpm its a nice pull with no bucking. We think the problem might be with the spark plub gaping. Its gaped to the recomended .028 as came in the instructions. Was wondering if anybody had any ideas. Like maybe running a colder plug. Thank you.

Anybody

Anybody have any ideas to why the car would be bucking. Its almost like the tuner box that came with the rev it up motor sports kit is makeing it run to rich and theirs not enough spark to egnite the fuel. The plugs are gaped a .025 now and its worse. So maybe the gaping needs to be bigger than the recommended .028

Come on, man. Watch the language with the thread titles, at least.

Gapping bigger makes it harder to jump the gap. So your problem is a misfire? Are your plugs original? If so, try simply replacing them with new. Any codes throwing?

Opening up the gap actually creates a larger spark. The larger gap also causes the coil to output a higher secondary voltage(the voltage that is actually going to the plug)therefore creating a hotter spark. If you go to a colder plug, and the car is already really rich with the kit on it, it will probably make the issue worse. The colder plug is great for the higher rpm's, but will make the lower ones very rich. It is the same concept as the drag cars I used to run with a big block and a 1050 dominator, they don't like to run at low rpm or idle for very long, but when you get the thing wide open, it runs awesome. Now if you get a colder plug, and open up the gap some, you might get a little better low end without causing the high end to go lean.

No theirs no codes throwing its just the car is bucking real bad when you roll into the throttel. Southern Florida Pulley headquaters recomends that you go two stages colder than stock and set the gap at .035 witch is bigger than what rev it up says to gap it at. So idk lots of different opinions but who knows witch one is right is the problem lol.

In every gear?

Don't you have any decent mechanics around you? SOMEONE should be able to fix this (or at least know the problem)easy.

We tryed regaping the stock plugs to 35 and now its worse so i dont think a bigger gap is right. But i do have the new irridum plugs and we got them re gapped and droped one and it got all jacked. So now i got to get a new one. But one question do you think not running the box that came with the rev it up motor sports kit would be a good idea. I guess the question is their anyone who has the 2.8" pulley with out any kind of tunner box?

Try the new plugs first. What did you gap them to?

We tryed them at 28 witch is what they came gaped at and it seemd better but still bucked. Like once and awhile you would get a good 2nd gear pull and then other times it would just buck. And we re gapped them at 35 but one got droped and it got messed up so now i have to wait for another one. Another thing we were thinking is maybe the cat is to restricting. Idk but i was just curious if anyone had run the kit with out the power pak. And if so did anything bad happen?

We took the stupid tunner box out and now it runs great. No bucking and no knocking up top now. It runs like i dream with out that stupid box in. Waste of money but oh well. Raced a stock srt 4 from a roll and pulled two cars.
