Cruise control quit working?

So i'm on the turnpike coming home have the cruise set. I brake for some slow cars...hit the cruise and nothing. Cruise will not come on at all. The light on the steering wheel is lit up but no matter how hard I press or what I do the cruise will not resume...any ideas?

I have intense stage 3 bf 2.7 and a k&N but I doubt anyof these would cause a problem.

yeah it seems to do that once in a while

you need to reboot the car (hmmm...must be running Windows...)

Mine does it once in a while too. I've taken it in but they can never duplicate the problem.

If it doesn't come on at all, then it's your brake light fuse. The cruise is tied into that part of the circuit. Mine drop the fuse at least ten times before I found the problem myself. It was a short in the third brake light. Take the cover off from the inside and take a whiff...if it smells like burned wires then....vola!

my car did that also. once you turn the car off and on it works. its just one of them bugs our cars have

+1........it's goin back again this weekend to have the shift knob replaced and I'm gonna have them look at it again although I already know that I'll get the typical "cannot duplicate" . Like others have said though, you usually just have to turn the car off and back on and generally it will reset it and it will function again.

Mine seems to only convienently do it on long trips, but I can always set it if I am testing it around town. I think its only happened once to me, but possibly twice.

I shut it off at a light and it still didnt work. I'll check the brake circuits tomorrow. Sucks cause I drive about 110 miles a day...I think im calling off tomorrow tho lol.

i had the brakelights ground out about 2-3wks after i got my car. popped fuses constantly
