interesting issue --- puzzled

Ok so I got my car back from the dealership today after not being able to get it to fire. Turned out to be some fouled plugs and they replaced em and sent me on my way (5th set of plugs now btw). Now here is where it gets weird. The car is quieter, way quieter! I have the 3" AA exhaust and it has always been anything but quiet. It sounds like a stock exhaust now. I looked under the car and the exhaust is still there. There is NO WAY this could have been them just tightening up the exhaust. It also has a very bad hesitation under acceleration now. My only thought is maybe the cat is clogged? Will a cat clog that fricken fast though? Like literally in one day?

I was thinking Cat too. It's the only thing that would make any sense at all. Is it the stocker or a high flow? A friends daughter's saturn had a clogged cat and it cought on fire one night and burned the whole car to the ground, Total loss! I've also heard seen quite a few Saturn cat's have problems with getting clogged.

I'd guess the cat too. A plugged cat would definitely cause some driveablilty issues especially when the engine is under load.

If the car was running too rich or too lean from the bad plugs... it would only accelerrate the issue as well...

yup it's a cat... and heres why... with that car not firing it had a lot of built of crap in the cylinders.. once those new plug were put in and they take the car out of the shop and rev it for about 2 or 3 mins to make sure all the crap is out of the cylinders then that crap goes right to the cat and clogs it.. sometimes you can get away from doing that but once you do it enough ti will clog

I had the same thing happen to my 04 cavalier. The coil fried and pumped a lot of raw fuel through the exhaust. Then they replaced the coil and I went to take it home it wouldnt even go 55 mph it was so clogged.
