Headers? Magnaflow exhaust

First off I am puchasing the magnaflow cat-back exhaust from ebay and I was wondering if it is what they say it is and how does it sound? Second Which header should I get with the exhaust? Or should I just get the competetiong header set from saturn motor sports. your info is appreciated.

If you can afford to go with the Saturnmotorsports header then go for it it's the best one out there. I personally have the jason smith header and its very good. there is a noticable power increase with it. I hear the CTI header is nice too. as far as exhause I haven't heard any one complain about the magnaflow exhaust but if you want my honest oppinion you should go with a custom 3 inch exhause especially if you plan on modding i.e. stage kits ect. I'm sure a few others on here will agree with me. JMHO

I don't want my car to sound like an import and I plan on getting the stage 2 upgrade, CAI, headers, exhaust, and springs. I am not very good with cars and I was trying to figure out what would be best budget wise and performance wise.

K&N CAI
B&G SPRINGS
STAGE 2 FROM GM
EXHAUST ?
HEADER?

well when the stage kits come out that would be you best performance bet. GM is slacking right now Everyone is going toward the intense kit because of the GM kit is taking forever. exhaust is a good place to start reguardless of wheather you use magnaflow or a custon exhaust your going to see a power gain aslong as you dont decrease the exhaust diameter. i belive borla has a catback system specifically tuned for the cobalt SS/ ion redline. I belive it's listed under the Cobalt SS though. www.borla.com update heres a link to the borla exhaust. http://www.borla.com/applications/lo...k_2.25/140138/

That Borla setup is crap... it's actually smaller than the stock exhaust setup...it's 2.25... the car is 2.5 for 1/2 the exhaust and 2.25 for the rear 1/2...

The CTI header and the SMS header are both top notch, but expensive. CTI will do custom ANYTHING for you though. So you can change a few odds and ends about their setup. Resonators, mufflers, etc...

Jason Smith (yeahididit on here) also makes a damn nice shorty header for $200, from everyone I've spoken to. I haven't seen it personally though.

damn I just looked at the size it says 2.25 i thought it was bigger i didnt even realize that. what the heck is wrong with borla. they usually dont make an exhaust unless it really increases power. i bet if you copied their exhaust in a 3 inch version it would be the shit though.

Yeah. I made a post before they released it, I was quite stoked about it. Love their stuff. Top notch, sound is usually the SHIT... I'm getting one of their tips on whatever setup I get. That 'intercooled' tip is what makes alot of their sound quality. $80+ for just the tip from Borla...

The SMS and CTI setups, asssuming that you get the matching 'downpipe' are everything from the cat forward, so a normal 'cat-back' system would be fine.

CTI will make a cat back for $450 for ya 2.5" or 3", magnaflow has theirs... is there any other ones out? Altered Atmosphere makes a 3"...

Header back exhausts for this car are expensive as hell... unfortunately...
