Question Which is would be better?

I know, I know, I'm sorry I created another thread about this. But there are so many threads I can't necessarily get the answer that I am looking for.

Would it be better for me to buy the intense kit, GM stage 1 and buy a pully separate, or just buy the GM stage 1 & 2 kits together?

I would like to get the most bang for my buck (so-to-speak). I know the Intense kit is fairly cheap, but I have heard a couple of guys on here saying something about the kit possibly throwing error codes at them. Since noone really had the GM kits, I guess it will be a matter of time before we know if the Gm kits do this too.

Let me know guys, again, sorry I started another thread on this.

It's up to you if you want to save money or if you want to save your warranty, I don't think anything's been finalized about there being ANY other difference. (other than pulley size).

the intense kit combination will save you money, but purely from my point of view, if that smaller pulley harms your supercharger in whatever fashion, you're stuck with paying the repair bill.

on the other hand the gm stage kits you're goin to have to get installed by a dealer to maintain the warranty, therefore paying a few more bucks, but if something like the supercharger thing happened, that SHOULD be covered

What would I do without you Freak. I think now that you mention the Warranty thing I think I am going with the GM kit.

Should I get the stage 1 and buy a separate pully, or the stage 1&2 together?

well in order to keep said warranty you're goin to have to buy it together, and if you do both at the same time the price isn't that bad

also as for the code problems, hopefully the stage 1 reflash will solve a LOT of the throwing codes for mods problems everyone's having

and fyi, it was going around earlier that stage 2 had a reflash too, be prepared for that. althought i think with stage 1, someone might be able to piggyback that to mimic whatever changes stage 2 does

(Btw i'm also assuming you mean just the smaller puelly from the intense kit, I'm pretty sure they have other kit modifications out as well that go beyond that)

I'm not buying stage 2... unless there's some big differences in the software, and even then I'm not sure...

Robert I was toying with the same thoughts. I am doing stage 1 and 2 together. I really need my warranty with all the driving I do.

Do we know the final cost for stage 1 & 2? I saw 1.5 hours labor somewhere for install but I think that was one stage only?? What was the total cost for labor for both also??

nobody can tell you for sure what the labor is going to be charged for.... it depends on the dealership you go to. every dealership has different rates, and every dealership is going to charge a different amount of hours for the first set of stage kits.

1 hour was supposed to be for stage 1.
1.5 hours for stage 2.

supposedly.

the guess is a 100 bucks for install of stage 2
