Still stock everything here as well. If anything I'd rather get the GM upgrades than to mess with the intake.

You are doing the same thing and saving yourself about $200 in the process. I'm sorry but it's foolish to spend that much money on a short metal elbow with a high flow when the airbox mod is essentially the same. The airbox may help shield debris but if you are careful with your driving habits and you do the mod correctly I think that it's just fine. Never had a single problem with mine, I switched to the K&N for extra piece of mind. I had a close encounter with a puddle that swayed my decision, otherwise I'd still have the ghetto ram on there. I think that the problems are more based on individual cars and/or incorrect installation. If you are creative you could probably find a way to mount the stock box lower or create a box out of something else. Then the only difference at that point would be metal vs. rubber and the length of the elbow. All in all, completely stock is probably the best bet but if you want a short ram then I don't see the ghetto one being any worse than the others. Just my .02

I really don't want it to sound like what I did is just as good as an aem, please don't take it that way. I had the Korax intake and was in denial about the cels and limp modes I was getting because of it. I had already removed the airbox to install it, so when I put the stock tube back on, I just did'nt put the airbox back in. And guess what....no more cels or limp modes.

try it, get a hi flo filter and remove your bucket. at the very least you will notice better throttle response. FYI electric throttle sucks.

I meant as far as hp gains. I don't really want to try something unless it is proven. Right now the setup is working fine. With the stages that are offered for the car from GM and intense, the numbers are dyno proven on the stock setup. I don't want to risk losing power or possibly money just to add some aftermaerket parts. I am watching and listening to you guys so keep doing what you are doing. I am very interested though in how these aftermarket intakes are going to improve performance with the other mods and HP tuner programming. What do you think the optimum performance setup is right now?

dude, your definately going to get a gain with an intake PERIOD! rather it be 1WHP or 100WHP, your gonna get something. Go to aem or K & N website, I believe they have before and after dyno's.

first day I got my K&N I got spanked by a Mufftang GT, I think that the engine may pull timing with the K&N on there, only way to find out is to go get dynoed again.

They do, but they dynoed the stock RL at 195K&N Dyno.jpg

What's up with that? I thought the stock RL was putting 205 down to the wheels?
