Thanks man. Mine has LSD by the way. I hope I don't lose anything B/C of that.

Never had a single problem with mine, I switched to the K&N for extra piece of mind. I had a close encounter with a puddle that swayed my decision, otherwise I'd still have the ghetto ram on there. I think that the problems are more based on individual cars and/or incorrect installation. If you are creative you could probably find a way to mount the stock box lower or create a box out of something else. Then the only difference at that point would be metal vs. rubber and the length of the elbow. All in all, completely stock is probably the best bet but if you want a short ram then I don't see the ghetto one being any worse than the others. Just my .02
It causes in the VAST MAJORITY of people using it Reduce Power Mode (LIMP) set by P0068 DTC. The K&N has a history of 0171 lean and 1182 Supercharger Inlet Pressure Sensor Performance and a rare P0068 ( that is rare on the K&N) . It is called the Ghetto Ram for a couple of reasons; 1 it looks ghetto and the biggest; 2 it preforms ghetto. Would I buy a AEM? No.. the one I have was installed by AEM for fit testing on the my 05. Would I buy K&N? No.. I do not feel that 200 plus bucks for whine and a couple of codes are worth it. Are either of them better than the Ghetto, hell yes. If yours is working for you, then great, hope the luck keeps going. You are the exception not the rule and I simply do not advocate a mod with the terrible history that this one has had. I also find it bad form to equate a cheap and dirty mod attempt to a product that does not recommend that configuration and that applies to any product. It is just simply the wrong information and easily misleads and there is more than enough of that.

How did you install the AEM? And there are some running code free with the K&N and almost all of the AEMs installed per factory instructions are code free.

For the price of the intakes + a couple hundred, why not just buy the GM stage 1 or 2 and get a smaller pulley. It works. Why do you guys like the intakes? Honestly. I am just looking for a good reason to buy one and if you can give me one, I might buy one. But not for only a 4 hp gain. Not with everything else that's coming out as far as the programing for our cars.

Well to start with I have stage 2 and pulley and I did not pay for the intake, it was given to me. To be perfectly honest, I can not give you a reason to spend 200 bucks on a intake when simply going to a dryflow filter will up the airflow and not throw codes and getting a couple of horses out of that simply cost more per HP than I think is worth it at this point. HPTuners is by far one of the best investements at this point that is out there, along with GM stage 2 if you are still under warranty. If not, then Intense kits are the most cost effective.

I'm with New2Saturn on this. The only pro I see now with getting an intake is maybe to make it whine louder, the con is the possibility of our ECU's hating it. I'd rather spend my money on stage kits.

I fully agree with ya Sp00ner... If I had bought my car earlier and AEM did not throw this one on for nothing, K&N would have gotten my bucks as well. At the time it was one of the only things you could get for the car...
