Sky is the redheaded stepchild?

It's looking like the Sky is having the same problem as the IRL with aftermarket support. Solstice already has a ton, while the Sky seems to be struggling. Interesting...

Granted the Sky is still new, but the Solstice isn't that much newer all and all

Wouldn't much of it be identical? I mean unless you're looking at visual mods. But the engines are identical, aren't a lot of the other components (suspension, etc.) the same as well?

it's been hard to get anything totally definitive, but it seems to have approximately the same 'small differences' that there are between the SS and the IRL, all little ones, but enough that it changes things. Trying to figure out what exactly. All the people that know what they're doing and know their stuff don't have sky's yet.

What's a ton? I know Saturn is already selling minor upgrades for the regular Skys online, but I haven't really looked any further...

well from what I've heard there's already a turbo kit out for the regular Solstice that's been out for a while that (doesn't seem) to work on the Sky. They already have a mod out for a dual exhaust for the Solstice, but doesn't seem to work for the Sky, etc ,etc.

And it seems to be the general consensus that the people that buy the Solstice are the ones that will be modding, not the ones that buy the Sky.

Makes sense though, Solstice is the cheaper, track based one, all amenities are optional, and it's a lighter car, the Sky is more 'luxury'

Saturn is being moved in the line up, look ahead, not behind. How's the T/A and pontiac doing for performance right now?

Not concerned about a turbo or dual exhausts, those are both on the Redline Sky anyway. The Solstice has been out a while now, and I feel that with the way the Sky will sell, there will be plenty running around and aftermarket support will be there. I'm not really thinking of the non-turbo ones though.

agreed, it's not that massive of a deal, but after talkin with some of the vendors, that's seeming to be the consensus that the solstice people have more of a desire to mod.

hell ifyou're bored one day, check out the solstice forums, and then check out the sky forums.

solstice = tech talk
sky = general talk

That's very similar to the Cobalt forums before alot of people owned them... If you had checked out ss.com and .net, they were full of Honda owners till late '05... I understand your point, but I'm just not that worried about it at this time. Wait till we get our first Sky owners on here.
