Opened my mailbox today...

...and saw that the cover of the June 2006 Road & Track has a picture of a Sky on it. There is a pretty nice write-up inside too. Sadly, there are only two mentions of the Sky redline, once in a caption and a small blurb in a separate section of the magazine.

All the magazines tested the Sky this month. And all of them have a full centerfold of the Sky Redline. I subscribe to all of them however my favorite, MPH, is the only mag to not have a review of the Sky. Oh well maybe next month.

and all the reviews show the sky sucking in all catagories compared to the MX-5 and the s2000.... kinda sucks.. cause the car is nice and is done very well but the car is below the average for the type of car it is...

everyone loved the sky, except for the operation of the top, in all the reviews I read. If they are looking for power wait for the sky rl

The base model is over-engineered for the other lines that will use the same chassis. Thus, they are too heavy and need the extra power the RL will provide. However, If you compair the Mazdaspeed MX-5's to the RL (apples to apples for the higher end, versus the base end), things switch right around.

Sky = slow (170 hp at the crank, 20% drivetrain estimated RWD loss), Sky RL = fixing every complaint made by every review out there.... for the most part

That is just so wrong on so many different levels, that you would need a frieght elevator and a crane just to carry the weight of the shame
