Sky Rollbar

So... when I saw the Sky Redline at the dealer, the first thing I looked for was the ability to install a roll bar. Any open roof car has to have one for my races. Anyone look at the clearance/space available for it? I know not alot of people have been up close and personal yet, but anyone working at a Satty dealer, and has some spare time, it would be appreciated...

I'd imagine it is easily doable. They did it for the Solstice with a LS7 swap. Full roll cage in that baby and the top still was able to come up. I wouldn't mind dodging that and just putting on a hard shell top, like what lots of S2000s get.

I don't think they can use that for my racing... if it's a convertable, it has to have a rollbar, that I know of...

So you can't have a hardtop shell bolted onto the car? Makes it a coupe, just the matter that you can take it off.

So for roll bad though, do you mean a full roll bar or those ones where you can have it behind each seat like tons of Miata's get?

Just behind the seats. So if the car rolls, your head stays attatched

It's because the 'hard top' isn't reinforced like it would be if it were a solid roof. If you look at the hard tops, they're basically just plastic/fiberglass, 1/4" thick. They're not meant to take a rollover.

I'd have to double check and see. The rollbars that would be required are just like the Miata ones... The S2K's have them where I race as well... so I have a feeling the hardtop isn't enough.

Yeah, I know the point, I was meaning this:

or one that sits higher and sits the whole length of the passanger area like a roll cage.

SpOOner, I've looked all over and I'm not having any luck. I'm gonna try some other places yet, but maybe contacting Mallett is a good idea?

I'm just thinking way ahead right now... but the ability to race it would seriously impact my thoughts on the car... autox would be ok, and 1/4 mile... but I'd love to get it on the track...
