Smile DSLSJA: Interested in running the drags this weekend?

I was just looking at Mooresville dragway's webpage (mooresvilledragway.com) and it says that Saturday Test-N-Tune is being held from noon-5PM as long as the temp is above 45 degrees.

Looks like the high in Mooresville is gonna be 55 on Saturday. Didn't know if anyone would be interested in checking it out. This is a real track, with real time-slips and some real competition. Much improved over redneck-ville where we went last time... though it's like $15 to run there.

On the same lines, would anyone like to return to "Redneck-ville" on Sunday? I know we could all use some practice launching and running, there are always more Hondas to embarass... and you can't beat the admission price.

Don't know if I'll go myself or not... just thought I'd put it out there since it is supposed to be sunny and dry this weekend.

I think I'm good for Mooresville! It's a 1/4mi?

Sadly mooresville is also 1/8th...

To get 1/4 you have to go to the Rock or down to SC.... a little bit more major of an undertaking... though one I would like to do come spring. In the mean time we'll have to settle for the 1/8th's.

Though mooresville is the track that a lot of IHRA drivers use to test their cars, so it is professionally managed and prepared.

That's where I ran 9.9 with my 2.4 auto Cobalt... they spray this stuff on the track to help you grip.

As far as I reccolect they follow the IHRA rules... you don't have to wear a helmet unless you are running 8.0 or faster. I've never seen anyone run with a passenger there... they probably don't allow that.

We don't have to do this if y'all don't want to... just thought I'd toss this out there. If we wanna wait and plan something a bit more substancial we could always give it another week or so and get a larger group together. It's only gonna get warmer from here.

Lightbulb

So... looks like a majority NO for this weekend. That's fine by me... maybe we can schedule something for a little later on in February.

How's next month looking to everyone? Maybe say the weekend of the 17th or 24th?

What does the weather look like for the week following (a), and what is everyones schedule (b)?

My shorty arrived today and I was going to put it in on Sat. That will give me a week to get used to it and see if i like it.
