Laurie and I had a real humbling and eye opening expirence on the way home from Mrphotos. We were coming back down 601 South we all of a sudden a big rig flys off the road to the right and a red chunk flys to the left. I realize theres been an accident and pull over and grab the cell. I dialed 911 as i ran up to the red chunk seeing that its a car. I run up to it and see the driver. He was messed real bad and his breathing was super rough. the engine bay catches fire as i reach in to try and unbuckle him. all this while on the phone with 911. Then I see the little girl trapped in the passenger side. The fire flared up and I couldnt stay in any longer so I backed up telling the dispatcher to hurry up the car has caught fire. At that point the man stopped breathing. Finally another trucker come up with a fire extingusher and calms the flames down. Emergency services roll an only 2 minutes have passed. I watched a man die tonight and I did all I could but I still wish I could have done more. In an instant 2 lives were taken all from a head on collision. As far as i could see it wasnt the truckers fault and he walked away. This has me fucked up in the head right now, and I just wanted to get this out. I hope that it helps me deal with it. Tell the ones you love how much you care about them, because it could all be over in a spilt second. It made me remember how precious life really is. Dont take a single day for granted. The thing that really gets me is.......aside from me and the trucker with fire extingusher not ONE FUCKING PERSON got out to try and help. there were 2 cars in front of me and i was the 1st one to get to the car. How fucked up is that? So please tell the ones ou care for how much they mean to you.

Ive stopped for people multiple times. I would flip if no one else stopped. Though you couldn't save either of them the fact that you tried is whats important.You have every right to be upset about it. It was just their time man. Dont beat yourself up over it.

the fire was put out. Bravo to the emergency services they were there within 2 minutes of my call.

thats amazing, i personally thank you for stopping, it takes good people like you in an event like that to make a real difference. you should be at peace with yourself because you know you did all you could, and thats all you can do.

Thank you. its just hard to deal with. I'm gonna go talk to a chaplin tomorrow and maybe a counsler at life skills.

Dam man im sorry to hear that i know your mind is probably goin at like a million miles a second but you did stop and could have potentially saved a life and just for the fact that you tried i think that still kinda makes you a hero. wether you suceeded or not you gave your all and thats more than what anyone couldve asked for. yea bravo to the recue team for the fire but i really say bravo to u cuz you tried to save two lives tonite.
