i wanna squash and put any drama aside between anyone, and just have a really good time.
just for the sake of our love of cars, sportsmanship and showing each other we can be cool.
if you'd like to come out i'd really appreciate it!
Haza.
So, in the LSB feedback thread, a couple people mentioned interest in having another event where we got to hang out with the other GM Compact owners again, but in an informal manner - picture day / cruise style. I talked it over with our club and it looks like August 7 would be a good weekend for it, so here's the details!
Date: Saturday, Aug 7th.
Schedule:
11AM-2PM
Meet up at Red Robin, eat lunch and gather up. It's in a big parking lot so we can hang out and take some pictures. I'll be there around 11 to make sure we have room for everyone, but show up by 2PM so we can all leave together. Red Robin
From there, we start the cruise. Here's the route.
2-3:30
Drive the first leg of the route, stopping at Sandy Creek Park, which overlooks Lake Travis and should let us line up and take more pictures. It's free from what I could tell, and is the Yellow marker on the map.
4-6
Drive the second leg of the route, stopping at Old Settlers Park. Once we're here we'll cook some food, throw a frisbee/football around, take more pictures. This second leg may get trimmed down so we have more time at the park if that's what people want. There's a Wal-Mart that we can stop at for groceries here.
8 PM
On Saturday nights there's a small meet with a bunch of modern cars (no ricers). It also has the benefit of being next to the best fast food chain in Texas - Carl's Jr. It's up in Cedar Park. Carl's Jr
10 PM
People at the Carl's Jr meet usually start going home around 10, so that sounds like a good time to head over to the hotel for the late party drunken bonanza.
Hotel:
I found this place, as it's super cheap and there's a HEB with lots of beer, and a Twin Liquors about 2 miles down the street.
Extended Stay Hotel
When I checked prices on Priceline.com, a 1bd was 59/night, 2bd was 64/night. I'm not going to bother trying to get a group rate because that's already extremely cheap.
Hope to see you there!
