Injector Sizes...WOP?

Ok i tried searching but didnt find definate results.

What is the flow rating and at what pressure for the stock injectors?
What is the flow rating and at what pressure for the GM Staged Kit Injectors?
What is the flow rating and at what pressure for the Intense Stage 3 Injectors?

Trying to see what changes I'm gonna have to make because I have the intense injectors and not the gm injectors and I wanna run the GM tune. Think I'll be safe with the 2.6 puley turning 7k?

Dan

I find it pretty amusing that so many people want to rip off the GM tune after swearing that the INTENSE kit was such a better way to go. Sorry, I have nothing useful to add to the discussion.

From Intense's Website...but no pressures:

Sold in sets of 4 these injectors flow 5.4 grams/second compared to the stock 4.3 grams/second 34.1 pounds/hour injectors which support ~235 WHP.

I never said it was bad...hell its an awesome point to start from. I just didnt want to wait for GM, then have to pay again for more upgrades...GM is the easiest way to go now but back then it wasnt.

If you want to run the 2.6 and the GM tune, you need bigger injectors for max power regardless of how you look at it. You can do it, just the same as we were running 2.8's with no tune... but...

jmc007 has a line on 50+ lbs'ers that fit the Intense harness. I might have to pick up the harness from them myself, if I go that route.

Have you considered the boost-a-pump idea? That's going to be one of my first goals...

Sounds like you found your specs
But remember- since the LSJ fuel system is designed to operate at 55-60 psi the conventional injector vs. HP limit charts (based on 43.5 psi) will under estimate the maximum HP they will support.

Therefore 4 injectors rated at 34.5 lb/hr (at 43.5psi) will support 235HP
BUT the same injectors will deliver 38.8 lb/hr at 55psi and therefore provide adequatey supply up to 265HP

52 "pounders" will be able to support 400 HP at the "low end" of the LSJ fuel pressure specification of 55psi.

The PCM has no knowledge of the ACTUAL fuel pressure (it assumes it is at specification as programmed into certain "constant" tables within the calibration) and the LSJ PCM CANNOT directly influence fuel pressure in any way (other than energizing the fuel pump relay)

GM stage 1 and 2 injectors are 42 lb/hr rated @ 43,5 PSI. These are too small for all bolt ons on the LSJ with pulley smaller than 2,8".

You can pick a set of flow matched Siemens Mototron 60 lb/hr from Racetronix. They have some Bosch style EV1 connectors so you will need some Bosch connectors or the Intense harness.
