With a mail order PCM, you’ll need to perform the Security Relearn Procedure. This only takes a half hour, and doesn't require any special tools, Here is a link to a similar procedure to the one required for LSJ-powered vehicles: http://www.intense-racing.com/sec_relearn.html

With a mail order PCM , the Crankshaft Position Variation Learn procedure (commonly referred to as CASE Learn) will also be required to prevent DTC P0315 (Crankshaft Position Variation Not Learned) from triggering your Service Engine Soon light. Anyone with a Tech II (such as a GM dealership) can perform this special function for you in a couple minutes. Some discretion is necessary when asking your dealership to NOT re-flash the PCM. If they re-flash the PCM, all your special tuning will be gone and un-retrievable. Many dealers will perform the Crankshaft Position Variation Learn procedure for free, while others may charge a modest fee.

Here's a 100% stock car with our Stage 1 PCM. The red lines are stock and the blue lines are after the PCM flash.

Here's a link to the whole story:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here's a Stage 3 kit on a a car with no other mods. This time the red lines are with the injectors and pulley, and the blue lines are with the PCM flash too.

Here's most of a Stage 5 kit on Rob Archer's car with exhaust work too. His blower is still stock though. The blue lines are with a GM Stage 2 flash, and the red lines are the tune Rob and I worked out together.

Here's a link to Rob's write-up:

(edit: sorry, I didn't realize you can't link to other forums here)

Yes, the stage 5 includes the ported blower, however Rob's numbers were put down with the ported blower installed. We should have dynos of the complete stage 5 with ported blower in the near future.

some people are saying that "stock", our cars wont be able to handle the stage 5... i guess due to axles snapping, and whatnot. i was curiouse what intense had to say about this, and what other parts would we want to upgrade if any to handle stage 5? I know your axles will be out soon and i plan on picking those up with the stage 5, but i was wondering about our stock pistons... can they handle upwards of 275whp?

I don't see why they wouldn't. Look into the pistons and cams being your very next step though...oh and definitely the clutch if it isn't upgraded yet. Rice's held 300whp I think before he had a leak and then he decided to completely rebuild it.

Scott
Were these dyno pulls using any correction factors? (STD?? SAE??)
Do you know what the factors were at??
IF NOT
Do you know the density-altitude at the time they were created?

Thanks
Wop

EDIT> Maybe just READ Wop!- the charts SHOW they are STD correction!!

With that in mind...
It should be pointed out that DynoJet's STD correction factor consistantly yields results appox 2% higher than SAE and as much as 4-5% higher than uncorrected numbers (unless of course the factor was less than 1)
So if you're helping someone installing/testing the Intense tunes on a DynoLet you may want to make sure you are using STD factors to prevent from making apparently less peak HP.
(given ANY factoring- % of improvement from baseline should be similar however)

well it was raining cats and dogs that night we dynoed...and was like probably 55-60 degrees...and 100% humidity iirc.

Well if you have your sheets WITH the correction factor annotations it would be helpful
