I would suggest a book rather than most online stuff. Now, I'm not saying online info isn't good...

I have a great tuning book, it's called "How do design and modify engine management systems' from a series called: 'Motorbooks Workshop'. Very good book on the subject.

I would HIGHLY suggest it. VERY good basic, and advanced info. The even do a full step-by-step build of a twincharged MR2 in there. Explains all the basic sensors and how they work with the management system, different type of management systems, engine tuning theory, etc, etc...
