usb, Not sure what other requirement you may need. Ram is always good to have, but Spooner could tell you better. He is our resident software wizzard.

I'm not sure if you "need" the following, but here's what I'm going to recommend, based on previous experience w/ datalogging:

USB 2.0 (either native, or PCMCIA)
Windows 2000/XP
Minimum of 512MB

I'm just gonna get a long USB cable and hook it up to my desktop. That way, I can call my brother on my cell phone, have him sitting at the computer, and see how I'm doing.

Yeah so anyway, what are the requirments? I was wondering the same thing.

Maximum length of a USB cable is 16.4 ft.

LOTS of usb hubs!

Alpha, anything that new is plenty fine. USB 2.0 ports (I don't think that any come with USB 1.1 anymore anyway.) It comes with all the cables and wires that you need beyond that.

You can't. You'll need an active extension cable (repeater) and your throughput will be terrible. You'll end up spending more in USB cables than you would w/ a laptop.
