Should the odometer say "Error" after a calib write?

Right after my calib write completed, the odom flashed "Error." Then everything reset, gauges came back on, etc. Car started fine.

After that, I read the PCM and all the changes took.

Is this something I should worry about?

It always does that, I think it's the BCM losing comm with the PCM perhaps? It will say the same thing if it fails in the middle... but it stays there till you re-write.

Just wanted to make sure.

I haven't really been able to test the new changes. Traffic around here is freakin' absurd until at least 11pm.

The car idles. I know that much.

I have good stretch of road right in front of the house. I'd trust a full out 2nd gear run, which is good enough for most of my stuff, but not much faster than that if I want to be safe.

Exactly. The cluster (IPC) is a member of the network as well.During a write other modules can get a bit PO'd when the PCM quits talkin to them.
Clear any U-codes if you want, but they have no ill effect

Which makes me wonder: Has anyone had a run in w/ the law while doing tune/log runs?

I've had LOTS of those experiences over the years LOL
(and a few "close calls" with the ditch or traffic as well)

One cop even threatened to give me a "Dangerous Driving" citation for road testing with a TECH2 one time, when he seen me with the T2 hanging from the steering wheel.

Another one started to give me a hard time but in the end just wanted to look under the hood of the Grand National I was "logging" (GM calls them SNAPSHOTS)

HPT is even worse !
(and it wont hang from the steering wheel)
Is there anyway to assign the space bar or something easy like that to trigger the logging???

spacebar already starts/stops scanning

For those with the MPVI Pro the blackbox datalogging feature will be available for beta very soon and general release in v2.1.12 (our next release).

(I thought I had tried the spacebar and observed it didnt work- but maybe I was in log review mode?)
