notice MPG discrepancy after using HPTuners

I noticed that my gas mileage doesn't match what my DIC says. My DIC says I'm getting 29.1 mpg for the tank of gas and when I use mileage/gallons the numbers are off a few. I know this isn't scientific but its been within a 1/10 mpg usually. Your thoughts..?

oops sorry, I'm assuming you were comparing the predicted MPG vs actual MPG. What were using for data for the actual MPG? (how many tanks, how were you filling, etc, etc. Human 'rounding' can lead to a MASSIVE difference all in all)

well that's probably a large part of the reason :P Think about it this way, i'm guessing you're off by like 2 mpg. If for whatever reason you put in .1 less gas than you did when you refilled it, right there would be your discrepancy. Or if you rounded the amount you put in, and also rounded your MPG.

(i.e. you put in 12.45 gallons, but you rounded it to 12.5 for your calculations), etc etc. If you notice the large discrepancy over like 5 tanks of gas then there might be something there, but typically with only a tank or 2, it becomes human error

I used the exact amount the pump showed....and it was 4+ mpg off.
