HP Tuners & LC-1 Install

I don't have the HPT box in my hands...and I'm wiring up the LC-1. Do I need to run a ground wire from the same ground points as the LC-1 (engine block) into the car for the HPT box for future use? (Just trying to save myself some time down the road, while I'm running all these wires back n forth through the firewall) I'm thinking I could just run a dedicated ground wire from the engine block and leave it hanging for whenever I get to plugging the HPT box.
Make sense?
