Had a small problem awhile ago, just thought I would post it now

I was driving around with the JCO boys up here in Ont. I was doing about 80km/h in second gear and my car went into limp mode, according to the dealership, it was the crank sensor, it was set to the "unknown" setting, they said that the computer needed to learn the crank. The car was driving like crap, barely idling, and had no power, after 2min of driving trying to find a parking spot the problem cleared up.

Now I know that I am new with the whole redline thing, but I ain't a car idiot.

What I am wondering is, has anybody had this problem before? What is the cause and will I have this problem again? And is there anything I can do to fix it............

limp mode occurs alot on these cars ... i seem to find it when i dont go high in the rpms for a long time and then boost her, besides the shitload of carbon coming out the back, i also like 25% of the time get a limp mode .. therefore i boost it more often now, and i dont have that problem.

Don't think so. Once the car finishes the re-learn, it's pretty much set until the power is disconnected.

kewl, thanks for the re-assurance.

One last thing, if we have soooooo many problems with the tuning on the 04's, can't we just get a 05 or 06 computer and install that? Or get the 04 reprogrammed with the info from a 05 or 06?
