One reason why the 04s might be slower

Did anyone notice that the 05s get an extra 9deg of timing on the high octane map?

This is strange.

I'm comparing three tunes:
2004 Redline stock (me)
2005 Redline stock (Ron)
2005 Redline Staged

The 2004 stock and the 2005 Staged have the same HO timing tables. Ron's "stock" has a more aggressive timing table. Maybe that would explain how he dynoed at 230whp.

I've attached my stock tune to this post.

And I've attached Ron's stock tune to this post. You're on your own to find a GM Stage tune.

Just compared to a 2005 Cobalt SS, and a 2006 Cobalt SS Staged... they have the extra 9 deg.

It almost looks like Ron's car got flashed w/ a CSS file.

You beat me to it...I was gonna look and compare the SAME tunes and see if I couldn't find something. I was going to start with the RL first though, and find out if there was anything to the claim that 05/06s ARE faster than 04s.

So, being the same cars and all, we should be able to just ADD that timing to our flashes, right?

I'm running his tune now, and I don't see any issues. I get knock between shifts, but that's always been there.

My fuel trims actually look better.

So you just flashed his whole tune, or did you cut/paste the different tables onto your tune?

I might play with this a little tonight, since I got SCRLA's cable for a couple days. I've yet to flash anything, just piecing a tune together first.

I pieced it, b/c I wanted to keep my torque and fan changes.
