what can i do for the BEST fuel economy?

i was surprised, i bought this ion for my gf, with the 2l supercharged, and it only gets like 20 mpg, maybe a bit more, with 30k miles, what could i do for better fuel economy, and to prolong the life of the engine

Shift at lower rpms and drive more highway if possible. I used to get 27-30 mpg depending on how I drove.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

I wonder if they have these threads on their forums as well. "I get only 42 mpg in the city. What can I do to get better?" Better yet, "WTF?!?! I only have 3 WHP?"

build the motor and do a giant turbo swap. youll get less than 20 then, and that would be the "BEST" in my opinion.

I got 16 MPG once. I think it was right after my stage 2 installation, and before that tank was done I got either traction bars or the rear sway bar. I beat the CRAP out of it that tank. 16mpg STILL cracks me up.

So back to the real question, I would suggest driving it like you are 90, never going over 2K rpms, keeping it to 55mph on the innerstate and always having a tailwind. Good luck. I'm happy with 20, but I didn't get the car for fuel economy.

alright, well im new to this, i recently had a 02 camaro with a supercharged ls1, and it got 32 mpg no problem, also had a 6 speed and not a 5 speed, it just is hard to believe that a 4 cylinder can get shitty mileage
