Question This just popped into my head....

... when you tune your ECM, do y'all have a table that relates speed to the tune at all?

The reason i ask is this:

If you're sitting idle, in N, and you rev your engine to redline, you have to wonder if, since the engine is building boost so quickly in that instance, your fuel delivery is always slightly behind the boost in the chamber...

so, by relating speed to the whole equation, you could then say ">0, do this, =0, make a bit richer" to avoid the said situation.

thoughts?

In the sense you are speaking, no there is no adjustments based upon vehicle speed (there are some, but none really related to what you are discussing), most functions are RPM based or a function of air density.

I don't think boost builds quicker than an ecm would react in neutral as otherwise compared to being in gear. After all, a revolution of the engine is the same in neutral as in drive and all readings as related to RPM would still maintain that relation regardless of drive position. In my experience it seems like PE is entered at the same time in neutral as in any gear so it seems reaction delay does not pose a problem to the ECM.

It wouldn't be difficult to do as you propose, obviously there would need to be another ECM control parameter or one that I'm not aware of that may already exist. But as I said earlier there are already other engine functions based off vehicle speed.

well the problem i was seeing was more to the chamber as the boost would be building so quickly that, even tho the ECM was ordering more fuel, it wouldn't reach the cylinder when it was "expected" to if the car were under load. by the time the add'l fuel got there, boost would be higher than what it was ordered for, follow?
