Tune, crazy idle

Ok, I paid $300 for New Era Performance to dyno tune my car. He did a whopping two pulls and said I was done, you're good. I thought it was weird and he could have pulled a little more power out of it with another couple pulls.

For an A/F of 12-12.1, i think I should be making more power considering people are always seeing the same if not better results with an A/F around 11 and those mods.

Most importantly, he has no fucking clue how to change the pulse width, etc and I have nasty nasty idle chase when I put it in neutral/push in the clutch. idle chases from 400rpm to 1900 rpm 4-6 times. Now that its cold it is starting to stall and its becoming a pain in the ass. He keeps telling me its normal and you can't correct it with HPtuners on the LSJ. Anyone know him, Mike @ New Era, who can learn this "professional" on how to properly tune our cars? He also set my idle at 1000 RPM saying it has to be that high to stay running.

Or can anyone tell me what needs to be corrected so I can relay it to him and maybe he will fix it. I kinda need a detailed description so he doesn't think I'm talking out of my ass.

Mike seems to be the only one around in this area that is tuning the lsj's so I second that input is badly needed to help out the mid/western new york lsj cars before they start blowing up...
Let me know if you ever get this figured out man, Ill be needing a tune in the spring, and a solution to mikes harsh tune would be awesome..

sounds like he dident adjust offsets and flow rates for the injectors...what a joke of a "professional tuner"

what injecters are you running? also, i'd want a slightly fatter AFR in the cold time of the year here.

thats just begging to have your shit blown up.

this can be taken care of by doing a few different things...

changing your injector latency tables (i dunno if HPT has this)
changing your min pulse width (helps with lopy 60# injectors)
adding timing on your idle timing table.

im not the most proficient at HPT, but in most cases lopy idle, and no crank has to do with not adding enough fuel at starting, and not enough timing at starting.

when its cold, the engine wants to run insanely rich to help start the car. when you are cranking the battery voltage can drop to around 10.9-11.6 volts...so you adjust your battery voltage v. injector pulse table (injector latency) so that it injects the proper amount of fuel in lower voltage situations. Adding timing will also help to rid of lopy cam idles...

hope this helps... id contact noremorse and all those guys, they are pretty proficient at HPT.
