Tuning... quick tips for noob? critique?

Alright, everyting is in the mail,
AEM UEGO,
42# Flow matched injectors w/harness
VCM Suite Pro
Asus EEE for tuning (and note taking/web surfing hehe)

I was going to get a return-style fuel system as well, but i remembered one of the sage pieces of advice from when i was younger looking at modding a fox body stang... one thing at a time. I know if i did injectors and a fuel system overhaul i'd manage to do something wrong tuning-wise.
looking for a quick lookover on how i'm thinking of doing the tuning (some terminology might be a bit off, i dont even have the software, but trust me i do have a pretty firm grip on how an ECU and motor interact)

First off adjust the injector constants, via maths available on this and HPT forums should get me relativley close... beyond this its either correcting the tables via STFT tuning, or SD tuning ... wont bother typing that out, but i'd be following the steps in CPIG's tuning sheets on HPT forums.

I'm very very close to gutting my cat, and welding a pipe through it... Is the rear O2 bung close enough to put the W/B sensor there, or have a signle NB there to feed the ECU, turning off CAT related codes?

Its this or getting a very-high flow cat, for those who are enviromentally concerned.

If you're going to change the cat you might as well throw on a whole header/downpipe combo imo.

As far as the placement of the new sensor I believe people go for a 3rd bung and put it post cat but I could be completely wrong there. Otherwise, since you're going with hptuners you can just turn off the cat codes (ie dreaded 0420) or turn all dtcs off and just use the 2nd o2 bung for the sensor and remove the 2nd o2 sensor.

If you're planning on gutting the cat or running a high flow cat it's likely you'd throw a 2nd sensor cat code anyway so you might as well delete it.

As for emissions...if you live in a state that uses a sniffer then you're going to be in trouble with no cat. If you live in a state that only reads your odb2 for codes then you'll be okay. Again this is only MY understanding of the whole deal and don't take it to the bank or say "this guy said this". If you live in California...you're pretty much in the shitter.

canada, no emissions testing unless your vehicle needs to get "safetied" after it either gets written off and repaired privatley, or moves to another province. so its all good. and no money left right now for a new header/DP or thats what i'd do. thats a future mod, full exhaust. for now just gut it and put a pipe in there, thanks for the reply ^-^
