Interior

Does anybody here start to get sick of our massive amount of plastic interiors?
dont get me wrong i LOVE me Ion, but after i while you start to notice these things eh?

im going to be doing a few interior mods to "un-cheapanize" the interior, do a bit more leather/vinyl accents, new headliner and carpeting etc

has anyone here done custom interior work here? show your talents!

I did some work on my Neon, for this very reason.

Thanks. I meshed the defroster vent and made the triple gauge cluster out of fiberglass. then, I coated it in a material similar to Line-X to give it less of a plastic feel.

I eventually molded two gauge pods on the A pillar as well, but I can't seem to find any pics of that.

It took a long time to get the texture right, but I was pleased w/ how it turned out. Unfortunately, it took entirely too much work to make more than a couple of them.

I can give you a stage 1 list that'll remove a lightweight 100 very easy lbs...possibly more if I'd get off my lazy butt and weigh some of the other stuff..

If the weather isn't too bad this weekend since I'm sitting here at home (very sorry I can't come to the party guys) I'm going to take the door panels off and see what I can take out from behind there for weight purposes..I'm sure there's more sound deadening material there..also yanking the front seats and removing the rest of the material from the floor of the car..next up is under the dash stuff that's not needed and hopefully Watts'll let me know pricing soon enough about the roll cage and what not..
