HELP! Rim cleaner fucked up my wheels!




I I figured since they were new, but got dirty I'd give 'em a wash. And this shit happened. I used Turtle wax platinum wheel cleaner.

What can I use to get this off????

It looks like hell. Help please guys!!!

ahhh acid based wheel cleaner? looks like oxidation. I cant tell from the pics if the wheels are chrome or polished aluminum or other what are they? try to hit them with some mothers chroome pollish and a high speed soft cloth of some sort. even hand speed might work?

I tryed some turtle wax chrome polish and buffed the shit out of it, although it did make the surface nice and smooth, it didn't take the shit off of them.

Maybe 40 or 50 seconds before I rinsed it off. The bottle says to leave it on for 1 minute.

if you used a acid base cleaner on polished rims with no clearcoat and it ate into the finish the only way to get it back off is to have someone sand and buff them back,have seen this happen many times ,most folks dont read the fine print on how to use rim cleaners and what not to use on them,good luck bud with getting them polished back up

I did the same thing to the wheels on my Camaro when I had it....

They told me never to use any wheel cleaners on chrome, only soap and water, and only use a specific chrome polish after that...
