Shift Knob

Maybe this has been covered before, but im too lazy to go searching. I was wondering if our shift knob is really able to be changed, we have that damn reverse thing on there that makes most shifters look like they won't work. I think our knob is a piece of crap, and I know of lot of you guys think so too. If it can be changed, do you any of you know of knobs that support our reverse lock mechanism? And if it can be bypassed, how do you do that? Thanks!

Since my shifter blew apart I played with this and the only thing that is reverse lockout is this peice of like beige plastic that unsnaps from the shift boot plastic piece and bingo its off I plan on swapping out my knob and shift boot later down the line when I save a few extra dollars up maybe I'll do a write up on how to make it work

the knob is press on. you don't need the lockout. when i had my '02 cavalier, i took off the lock out on my b&m and it felt better

oh ok, so when the shifter pops off, find a replacment and put it on the post leaving the spring attached and the reverse lockout intact.

hold the knob on with an allen screw.
