Tell you what, I'll look back and see what it cost to build in the next couple days. No welding, it is bolted together. I cut the bars to length and then drilled each one. There is a piece of threaded rod running through all of it with aluminum spacers in between. then I drilled small holes in the plastic of the frame. the rod runs up through that with a nut on top.

The materias are around $60, if i can find the spacers. I had lucked out enough to find enough to do that one. Suck thing is, that the spacers are the expensive part. the smallest part and the costliest.

Seems to me like they should have made it black to match the rest of the front end.

It was becuase the picture was so large you were only seeing the upper left corner of it. If you were to use your arrow keys you could have scrolled around on the pic and seen the grill. But it was still to big to see the whole thing at once.

i bought mine, installed mine, love mine.

lol

i had no problems getting it installed, put the nut on and push it as far as you can, then get a nut driver and push as you turn, and it will thread to the plastic nipple off the bumper.

its a fantastic fastening system, very easy to use, strong and you cant see the mounting at all.

i think everyone should buy it, you can make your own and save money but it matches our side vents, only its metel.

very very nice piece.

what the hell is a nut driver?!?!

I pushed those little damn things on as hard as possible MULTIPLE times and they stay on put if I push hard against the grill they fall right off. So I put some super glue on them and pushed those little bastards as far as they would goand when I went down this morning when everything dried i couldnt move the damn thing an inch. So I like my idea alot But seriously is there a tool I should of had? I read the instructions and they said nothing about a driver

you can push all day long, it wont hold, and dont GLUE THEM!

those nuts are designed to cut into the plastic nipple and thread it, its a kick ass hold. you need to rotate it on, not just push it, you will see the nipple get threaded after it passes the nut.

keith

a nut driver is like a screwdriver however it is shaped like a socket on the tip, but is not ussaly removable they come a solid piece.

push them on hard, then rotate them with a little pressure and it will cut right into the plastic nipples on the bumper.

keep trying.

Do you guys think it would be possible to paint the grill from Saturn to match the black ones in the side areas? I really don't care for the silver grill, but I like the black. Maybe some sort of scratch resistant paint? Or just many many coats of paint?
