Arrow Custom Interior Question

Anyone changed the interior panels, the ones that come in wood grain for the '06 awd V6? Im told they are glued on and hard to replace.

Would you be able to heat gun them off or are they plastic? I'm not really sure since I haven't looked at an '06 Vue..

When I bought my VUE, I told the dealership I wasn't driving off the lot until they changed out all the woodgrain panels to the silver panels like on the 4-cyl. VUE. They did it for free in about an hour:

Sweet, how did they do it? How to remove the pieces anyway?

I am not sure how they did it, but it couldn't have been too hard to change out all of them...I think there are about 7-8 of them in the whole car.

blow dryer and a little force, they'll come off. I'm sure most of them are just double sided tape not even glue.

From the look of it, most of them seem to be the whole trim panel rather than just a 'sticker'... could be wrong though...

Sp00n is right, they change the whole console piece. I've actually done it before, same kinda thing, the person didn't like the woodgrain and wouldn't buy the vehicle with it in. You remove the piece surrouding the shifter w/ the window switches, remove the little recessed "pocket", then remove the console trim. The HVAC head needs to be unscrewed from the panel, then reinstalled on the new piece. Same thing with all the other buttons, remove and reinstall on the new panel (unless you are doing the easy switch with an indentical spare). It's not really that hard, just sometimes the center console panel really sticks in place and feels like you are about to break it. So yeah, you need to get a new trim panel.
