I have the shifter boot and e-brake boot from Redline Goods and I'm happy with that as well. I also bought the leather door insert pieces but was not too pleased with them. There's a lot of work to remove the stock pieces and not a very good way to attach the new Redline Goods leather insert. The OEM pieces are held in with plastic welds so that's difficult to replicate.
I'll be washing and waxing my RL this weekend. I usually wax it once in the spring and then once in the fall.
the goal isn't to cake it, nor do it when it's hot/cold out. here's the way I do it. if you've seen my car, you know I know what I know which I'm trying to let you know.
1: wash car - 2 bucket method
2: clay bar car
3: wash car - 2 bucket method
4: thoroughly dry car
5: let sun finish drying
6: park car in shaded area (garage)
7: let paint cool
8: glaze
9: polish
10: wax
Clay bar is literally a bar of clay that takes fallout off of the car. You can get it anywhere.
2 buckets: one for soapy water, one from rinse off your cleaning tool before going back to the soapy water. Glaze will fill all the haze marks and such. Polish is a hard finish that will protect the paint. Wax doesn't last long, but is a finishing product to bring out a deep shine.
hood, roof, front part of the trunk are metal, which is still irrelevant....
if you follow my steps, your car will look brand new... one of my biggest pet-peeves in life is a dirty, gritty car. i just bought a new car that was "detailed" and spent roughly 3 hours on the paint, which is a quick job for me.
Well I have improved a little more on some areas where I have not
gotten too - some scratches and areas where the paint fell off - on the front
bumper - good thing this is not metal because there's no rust --
I painted over and for the time
being it looks good hopefully it absorbs into it -- -
---
hoping it will stay warm for a while - would like to try the clay bar
procedure - thanks
