Question tire tips

i've got everything ready for my saturday track day, but i'm still not 100% on what i should do about my tires.

i guess what i don't understand is whether i need them to be more, or less inflated than what is typical.

help a newb!

What tires are you using?

if you are running street tires you will want to be more than typical cold. R-comps you would want to be less that typical cold

I run mine around 42 PSI...it helps the sidewall holdup around corners

Is this track day going to be held on a road course?

I would go with JDNav's suggestion. 42-43psi is a good number for the Dunlops. Around 38-40psi in the rear.

Those are the pressures I used to run them on. You want to prevent the tires from flexing too much.

That sounds cool. Cooking the tires won't be an issue unless you are going around turns at 90+ mph. 42 psi is probably the way to go or whatever your auto-x set-up is. Don't forget to torque down your lug nuts.
